Because Flying Gets Tiring
I'm glad I didn't do NaBloPoMo because I would have already failed. Still, I have to come out of hibernation at some point and I have so much news that I'm not quite sure how to squeeze it all in.
But I'm on vacation this week so I'm going to take the opportunity this week to hopefully do just that.
We spent some time out today and just kind of enjoyed the fall weather (and I say that loosely because Charleston fall doesn't even compare to Pennsylvania fall) and spending time together.
We went to IHOP for brunch because neither of us felt like cooking and I had a craving for their New York Cheesecake pancakes (fabulous!). If you haven't tried them, you probably should because they are amazing.
Then, we decided to catch a matinee and bought tickets to Bee Movie. After killing some time wandering around the bookstore we settled in with our sodas and popcorn. The movie was good enough to keep me entertained. The actor cameos worked well with what you expected from their outside personas and the timing of the jokes was perfect. But the story moved quickly and lacked any major depth, not that I expected much. However, I think something like The Incredibles was far better than this movie.
On a side note, the theatre was filled with children (expected for a Sunday afternoon matinee) and they were extremely well behaved. Usually I find when I see children's movies and there are younger ones there, they hit a point about 45-minutes in where they start to get bored and lose interest. It did start to get a little noisy around that time but never rose any higher and the rest of the time was punctuated with kids laughter (who knew kids found humor in slapstick because that was the majority of what entertained them?). Whether that's a testament to the movie's ability to entertain the kids or the kids just being very well-behaved, one will never know.
For now, I probably should make an effort to go to bed so I don't completely mess up my sleep schedule this week. But I've got some news, so keep checking back.
